Submission Preparation Checklist
Before proceeding, authors must confirm that their submission meets all of the following requirements. This checklist also appears in the Author Guidelines section. All items must be checked before submission can continue.

Original Articles
Scope:
This section publishes original research articles in radiation oncology, medical physics, radiobiology, radiation protection, nuclear medicine, surgical oncology, imaging, artificial intelligence in oncology, and related disciplines.
Eligibility:
Submissions must present original, unpublished work and must not be under review elsewhere. Multidisciplinary studies and regionally focused research with broader scientific relevance are welcome.
Manuscript Requirements:

Peer Review Process:
All manuscripts undergo double-blind peer review by at least two independent experts. Editorial decisions are based on scientific rigor, originality, clarity, and relevance.
Ethical Compliance:
Authors must comply with the COPE and ICMJE guidelines. Ethical approval is mandatory for clinical studies, and informed consent is required for any identifiable patient data.
Open Access and Copyright:
Articles are published under a Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY) license. Authors retain copyright.
Review Articles
Scope:
Systematic or narrative reviews, updates, and state-of-the-art articles in radiotherapy, oncology, radiobiology, medical imaging, and associated fields.
Eligibility:
Reviews must be based on a robust literature analysis. Both invited and unsolicited submissions are accepted. Systematic reviews must follow PRISMA guidelines.

Peer Review Process:

Case Reports
Scope:
Case reports from clinical practice that offer insight into diagnostic, therapeutic, ethical, or educational challenges. All oncology disciplines are welcome.

Scope:
Resources and articles intended for medical education, continuing professional development, or clinical training. Examples: teaching guides, summaries of recommendations, decision-support tools, and structured learning modules.

Tailored to target audience (students, residents, specialists)

Peer Review:
Double-blind review focusing on clarity, educational value, and scientific accuracy.
Editorials
Scope:
Editorials offer expert commentary on key topics or reflect the position of the journal on emerging issues in radiotherapy and oncology.
Submission Policy:
By invitation only. No external peer review. Must maintain clarity, relevance, and transparency.
Ethical Requirements:
Conflict of interest disclosure required. Approved by the Editor-in-Chief or editorial team.
Letters to the Editor
Scope:
Brief communications addressing recent NAARO publications or timely topics in oncology/radiotherapy. Constructive critiques, short clinical observations, or responses to editorials are welcome.
Requirements:

Max. 1000 words unless justified

Clear and respectful tone

Reference the original article if applicable

Review Process:
Evaluated by the editorial team. Peer review optional depending on content.
Conference Abstracts – Posters
Scope:
This section includes abstracts accepted for poster presentation at NAARO-supported conferences (e.g., STOR Annual Meeting). These abstracts are pre-approved by the conference’s scientific committee.
Publication Requirements:

Published as submitted (no editorial revision)

Each abstract must cite the conference name, date, and location
-
No additional peer review by the journal
-
Conflict of interest statements included where applicable
Editorial Process:
Selected by the conference committee and formally validated by the NAARO editorial team before publication.
Mini Articles – Oral Communications
Scope:
This section publishes extended abstracts based on oral communications selected at scientific conferences. They may include preliminary results, protocols, or advanced insights.
Submission Requirements:

By invitation or following a specific call for contributions

More detailed than a basic abstract

Abstract (EN/FR), keywords, and standard declarations required
Review Process:
Editorial evaluation or light review. Full peer review may be applied depending on content.
Purpose:
To provide visibility to recent scientific work and encourage rapid dissemination of emerging ideas with baseline editorial quality assurance.
